We're Off!

It's been a crazy few weeks since Farid got back on March 17th. All that packing for the movers, then packing the remaining stuff and cleaning the b**#%^ rental. That ranks as one of the worst weeks of my life. Yeesh. We certainly left it a lot cleaner than when we moved it. Still no news about our bond. Anyways, enough looking back, we will look forward instead to our adventure.
We stayed with very, very good friends after we moved out. Pummie and Pabs for over a week and Alex for a bit less than a week. It was good to stay with them, so we could have more time together before we left. They were amazing. Made our last few days in Mandurah so meaningful. We had to say goodbye to friends in Perth as well. Rocky and John, Brian and Alley. I think that really is the hardest bit. The goodbyes. I don't like being emotional (except when yelling at my kids) but thinking of all the goodbyes is making me very teary. I hope we get lots of visitors from here. We've made so many good friends here.

The moms that I met from Arannatee being in Dawesville have been great. Lisa, Alicia and Naomi organized a surprise party for us at Falcon bay the day Farid got back on March 17th. It was awesome to see so many families from school. They made tons of food and not only that, they got the kids in Year 2 to submit a page with a pic of themselves and wishes for Arannatee so that she remember them. And Farid and I got a gift card to go towards something for the new house. How sweet is that? What a send off.
Arannatee had a great send off as well for her last art class. Carmel, a fantastic artist and teacher, got the kids to draw, write on a white t-shirt. The little artists also created some arty goodbye postcards for Arannatee. It was lovely. And sad, cause Arannatee is really inspired by Carmel and her classmates and has learnt lots about art since starting it from 4 years old onwards (when she was in kindy).

Mike, the Aikido sensei from Falcon Kokikai gave Arannatee a gpodbye class she will not forget! She had to defend herself against everyone and throw them to the mat!

And Arannatee's school gave a blessing after the year 2 Assembly. We will miss everyone.

We met other friends on Tuesday for the last beach play my daughters are going to get in a while (Ballarat is inland). We saw Lisa, Alicia (freshly back from MY), Katja and Andrea (fresh from the gym, or not so fresh maybe- my SWOT buddies), Alexandra and of course Alex and Pummmie. Hard to say goodbye.

Now we have just set off. It's been crazy getting ready. We had a garage sale, we gave away stuff on gumtree, gave some stuff to the salvos, sold some stuff on ebay. We PACKED. And in the last week, we put racks on the roof of the ute, we sent the other ute on, we put in a new stereo and antenna on the car (the old one broke), got a GPS, we had to buy containers to organize everything. We were there so often we made a new friend at SuperCheap Auto. A young guy with a Singaporean/Indonesian background. Look for him next time you shop there, very nice guy named Alif. We went to the doctor's for Arannatee's vaccinations, we had dental visits, man, we packed in tons.

I felt overwhelmed by the number of things we had to do, like canceling memberships, and forwarding addresses, paying bills, wrapping up services, enquiring about insurance and RAC, packing and repacking the car. Yeesh, glad that bit is over. Anyways, now it's time to take a break. Will write more later. Have to give everyone the blog address. We are on the Kwinana highway headed to Perth and we will cut east then.
I hope everyone visits. You know you've promised. .
